Colchester welcome Walsall to their Colchester Community Stadium on day 32 of the 2022/2023 League Two campaign. The U’s have been producing fine displays of late, with the team beating both Hartlepool and Grimsby, while sharing the spoils with Barrow in their last league match. Colchester aim to move closer to the top half of the table, but Tuesday’s clash will be anything but a walk in the park for the home side. Cole Skuse limped off with injury at the weekend, with Arthur Read likely to step up.
The Saddlers, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their four-game winless run in the League Two. Since both sides will go for a victory in the midweek, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. Ireland forward Conor Wilkinson could sneak into Walsall’s starting XI. Tommy Smith is a left-footed defender who plays at centre back. Smith is capable of playing as left back as well and he represents New Zealand on the international stage. He was born in Macclesfield, Cheshire, but seeing that he was resided in New Zealand he was eligible to play for both England and All Whites.
The New Zealand international played for the likes of Crewe Alexandra, North Shore United and Ipswich Town during his youth career and he made his debut for the first team in Ipswich’s 2-1 defeat to Preston North End in the opening match of the 2008/2009 campaign.
Tommy Smith impressed in the 2013/2014 Championship campaign with the Tractor Boys as he scored 6 goals in 45 league appearances for the club. Speaking of his international career, Smith made his full New Zealand debut on 3 March, 2010 in a 2-0 loss to Mexico. He scored his first goal for the All Whites in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Fiji. Smith was born on 31 March 1990.

Founded in 1888, Walsall are a professional club that play home matches at Bescot Stadium. The capacity of the venue is 11,300 people and it was opened in 1990. Nicknamed the Saddlers, Walsall footballers wear red shirts and white shorts when playing in front of home fans, while black is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Walsall played out a goalless draw with Aston Villa on April 9, 1888 in their first ever game, with the team recording their biggest win on March 4, 1899 against Darwen (10-0). The Saddlers suffered their biggest defeat on December 17, 1892 as they were beaten by Small Heath 12-0.
