Our prediction for this Championship match:
Riverside Stadium will host Friday’s Championship game between Middlesbrough and Norwich, the two top-table sides. The Boro aim to put an end to their three-game winless run, but this match will be anything but a walk in the park for Michael Carrick’s troops. Matt Crooks should keep his place up front after finding the net in a 2-2 draw with Bristol City. Dael Fry is a major doubt, while Riley McGree is pushing for a recall to the starting XI.
The Canaries, on the other hand, aim to climb to the playoffs berth. Considering that Norwich City will go for a win as well, we predict that both sides will find the net in Friday’s derby. Both Grant Hanley and Ben Gibson are out of contention with injuries, as well as Marcelino Nunez, Kieran Dowell, Jon Rowe, and Przemyslaw Placheta.
Highlighted Player (Duncan Watmore):
Duncan Watmore is an English footballer who started his youth career at the famous Manchester United football academy. The 175-cm-tall winger then joined Altrincham at the age of 16 and he continued playing for the lower-league club at senior level.
After scoring 15 goals in 48 appearances for the club in the league, Watmore moved to Sunderland in 2013, but it has to be noted that he played for the likes of Clitheroe and Curzon Ashton on loan as well during his spell with Altrincham.
During the 2014/2015 season he played 9 games for the Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, but he returned to Sunderland at the end of the campaign. Duncan Watmore has 13 caps for the England U21 team, but he has yet to make his debut with the senior team. His main position is winger, but he is capable of producing fine performances as centre-forward as well.
Highlighted Team (Norwich):
After spending only one season in the Premier League, Norwich City dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 campaign. Norwich City are located in Norwich, Norfolk and they welcome their rivals at Carrow Road.
The stadium was built and opened in 1935 and the capacity of the venues is 27,137 (all-seater). However the stadium’s record attendance is 43,984. The Canaries have won two League Cup trophies (1973, 1975) and their main rivals are Ipswich Town. The two teams have been facing each other in the East Anglian Derby since 1902.
The colour of Norwich City’s home kit is yellow and green and that is the main reason why they are known as the Canaries. The likes of Kevin Keeland, Ian Culverhouse, Steve Bruce, Duncan Forbes, Mark Bowen, Darren Huckerby, Ian Crook, Martin Peters, Darren Eadier, Chris Sutton and Iwan Roberts are notable footballers who played for the Carrow Road outfit in the past.
