Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Atalanta and Juventus go head to head at Gewiss Stadium in the opening match of Sunday’s program. The Orobici are eyeing their fourth consecutive league win and a triumph over Juve should see them climb to the Champions League berth. Colombia striker Luis Muriel should keep his place in the starting XI after sealing the victory against Spezia, while all Matteo Ruggeri, Ademola Lookman, and Hans Hateboer remain in the recovery room. Rasmus Hojlund is a major doubt.
The Bianconeri, on the other hand, aim to build on a hard-fought 2-1 win over Lecce. Max Allegri’s men, though, recorded only one win in the previous five away games, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on draw. As for the visiting team, Leandro Paredes is banned for the match, while Mattia De Sciglio has yet to overcome an ACL problem. Juan Cuadrado is likely to replace De Sciglio in the starting XI.
Highlighted Player (Duvan Zapata):
Duvan Zapata was born in Cali, Colombia on 1 April, 1991. The 186-cm-tall attacker started his youth career at America de Cali, playing for the club between 2004 and 2008. In 2008 he made his debut for the first team and three years later he scored his first hat-trick for the Colombian outfit, in a 3-2 win over Deportivo Pereira.
In 2011 he signed a loan deal with Estudiantes and he found the net for the Argentine team on his debut against Belgrano. After scoring 11 goals in 37 appearances for Estudiantes, the Colombian striker joined Napoli in 2013, but he failed to establish himself as a first-choice attacker.
On 22 July, 2015 Zapata joined fellow Serie A team Udinese on loan and it has to be noted that he scored eight goals in 24 league appearances for the Zebrette. Duvan Zapata has 5 caps for Colombia U20 team, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior side.
Highlighted Team (Juventus):
Juventus are considered one of the greatest European football clubs. The Bianconeri (The White and Blacks) have won two Champions League trophies (1985, 1996) and they did well to clinch three UEFA Cup titles (1977, 1990, 1993). The Italian giants have won 32 Serie A trophies and it is well known that a number of star players were part of Juve in the past.
The likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Zinedine Zidane, Michel Platini, Lilian Thuram, Filippo Inzaghi, Pavel Nedved and David Trezeguet all played for Juventus, whilst legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has yet to retire. Juve were stripped two domestic trophies during the “Calciopoli” scandal, but despite being relegated to Serie B, the club quickly brought glory days back to Turin. The Bianconeri used to play their home games at Stadio delle Alpi, but nowadays they welcome their rivals at Juventus Stadium.
The capacity of the stadium is 41,475. La Vechhia Signora (The Old Lady) is yet another nickname of the club. Juve’s biggest rivals are Torino and the two local rivals take on each other in the Turin derby.
