Our prediction for this Championship match:
Sunday’s football game between Sunderland and Ipswich Town will bring down the curtain on round 1 of the new Championship campaign. The Black Cats were producing fine performances in pre-season, with the team winning five friendly games, while sharing the spoils with Mallorca in their last test match. The club chiefs have signed the likes of Bradley Dack, Eliezer Mayenda, Nectarios Triantis, and Jobe Bellingham in the summer transfer window, while Leon Dajaku and Bailey Wright are no longer parts of the team.
The Tractor Boys, meanwhile, enjoyed a successful League One campaign, but they do not want to stop now. Ipswich aim to prove their worth in the English second tier as well and given their attacking potential, both teams to score betting option should be considered. The opposition back-line should have last season’s top scorer Conor Chaplin at bay.
Highlighted Player (Bradley Dack):
Born in Greenwich, England on December 31, 1993, Bradley Dack is a midfielder who plays for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. Bradley Dack began his youth career at Charlton Athletic back in 2005 and five years later he moved to Corinthian. However, the English footballer started his senior career at Gillingham, making his league debut against Bradford City on August 18, 2012. 20 days later he scored his first senior goal as he found the net in Football League trophy clash against Crawley Town.
Before joining Blackburn Rovers on June 27, 2017 Bradley Dack played four games on loan for Braintree Town, scoring one goal in those league games. His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is used as both right and left midfielder as well. Dack once described himself as “free role behind two strikers”.
The Blackburn Rovers midfielder often finds the net and it has to be noted that he scored 16 goals in 36 appearances for the Riversiders in the 2017/2018 League One campaign.
Highlighted Team (Ipswich):
Ipswich Town are an English football club that was formed in 1878. Portman Road has been the home ground of Ipswich Town since 1894 and the capacity of the venue, which was expanded in 2002, is 30,311. The Tractor Boys compete in the Championship, but they used to play in the English Premier League in the past as well. Ipswich Town last appeared in the elite division in the 2001/2002 season.
Ipswich won the FA Cup in 1978, with the team beating Arsenal (1-0) in the title game. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1981 when they outplayed AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Cup final. It has to be noted that the Tractor Boys have yet to suffer a loss at home ground in the European competitions.
Norwich City are regarded as Ipswich Town’s bitterest rivals and it is well known that the two sides take on each other in the East Anglian derby.
