Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Celta Vigo play host to Osasuna at their Estadio de Balaidos in the opening match of their La Liga campaign. The Galicians finished the last season in style, with the team securing the top flight survival thanks to a 2-1 win over Barcelona and they surely want to continue where they left. The likes of Carlos Dotor, Carles Perez, and Jonathan Bamba have joined the club in the summer transfer window, while Javi Galan and Gabriel Fernandez are no longer parts of the team. Speaking of round 1 clash, goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin misses out with injury.
Los Rojillos, on the other hand, defeated Burgos 2-1 in their last warm-up game, but they face an uphill task in their Primera Division opener. Since Celta Vigo produced fine displays in pre-season triumphs over Lyon and Wolfsburg, home win should be considered. Midfielder Darko Brasanac should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Hugo Mallo):
Hugo Mallo is a Spanish footballer who plays for Celta Vigo as a full back. Mallo, who is a capable of playing at centre back if needed, was born in Marin on 22 June, 1991 and he has been playing for Os Celeste since 2009.
During his youth career Hugo Mallo played for the likes of Porvir and Pontevedra, but he made the biggest progress at Celta Vigo. The Celta defender has three caps for Spain U21 team and he played for the U19 and the U20 teams as well in the past. On 9 January, 2013, Mallo suffered a serious knee injury and, as a result, he was forced to miss the rest of the season.
The right-footed player has a contract with Celta Vigo which expires on 30 June, 2019. You should bear in mind that he scored one goal in 34 appearances for the Galician outfit in the 2015/2016 Primera Division campaign. In the 2014/2015 campaign he scored four goals for Celta in the national championship.
Highlighted Team (Osasuna):
Osasuna are a Basque football team that plays in Spanish La Liga. Los Rojillos are based in Pamplona and and the club were founded in 1920. Estadio El Sadar has been the home of Osasuna since 1967 and the capacity of the stadium is 19,800.
The colour of Osasuna’s home kit is red, while the team’s shorts are navy blue. Los Rojillos dropped to the Segunda Division at the end of the 2013/2014 La Liga campaign, but they did not spend too many time in the Spanish second tier. The club returned to the elite division in 2016 after beating Girona in the play-offs.
Osasuna made it to the Spanish Copa del Rey final in 2005, but they eventually lost to Real Betis after extra time in the title game. The meaning of the word Osasuna is “health” in Basque and it is used in a sense of strength.
