Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Athletic Bilbao and Valencia square off against each other at Estadio San Mames in what is expected to be one of the most interesting games of Sunday’s program. The Lions aim to recover from a 1-0 loss to Barcelona and you should bear in mind that they are eyeing their fourth home win of the process. Both Yeray Alvarez and Mikel Vesga remain on the sidelines with injuries, while Inigo Lekue is pushing for a recall to the starting XI.
Los Che, on the other hand, recorded a routine 2-0 win over Cadiz at the weekend, with the team putting an end to their four-game winless run. Valencia, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Athletic Bilbao’s party at San Mames. As for the away team, both Mouctar Diakhaby and Jesus Vazquez are out of contention with injuries, while Sergi Canos and Alberto Mari will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Highlighted Player (Iñaki Williams):
Inaki Williams is one of the most talented Spanish players. The pacey winger, who plays as a centre-forward as well, started his senior career at Basconia, scoring seven goals in 18 appearances for the club. In 2014 he moved to Athletic Bilbao, but he played for the reserve team at the beginning.
Inaki impressed in the 2014/2015 season with Athletic Bilbao B and, as a result, he was given a chance to prove his worth in the Spanish top flight with the first team. The Spanish footballer made his La liga debut on December 6, 2014, replacing injured attacker Aritz Aduriz in a 1-0 loss to Cordoba.
Inaki Williams represented Spain at the 2017 U21 European Championship in Poland and he played 20 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Germany in the final of the tournament. Speaking of the senior squad, the Athletic Bilbao footballer made his Spain debut in a 3-1 victory over Bosnia on May 29, 2016. Inaki Williams was born in Bilbao on June 15, 1994.
Highlighted Team (Valencia):
Founded on March 18, 1919, Valencia FC are a Spanish football club that compete in La Liga. Los Che play their home games at Estadio de Mestalla, the stadium which was opened back in May, 1923. The capacity of the venue is 50,000. Seeing that bats are quite common in Valencia, it is no surprise they are nicknamed the Bats.
Valencia made it to the Champions League final on two occasions (2000, 2001), but they were beaten in the title games by Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen respectively. The Spanish club, though, did well to win the UEFA Cup title in the 2003/2004 season, with the team beating Marseille in the final of the competition.
A number of top-class footballers were part of the club in the past, with the likes of Pablo Aimar, Ruben Baraja, David Albelda, Santiago Canizares, John Carew and Gaizka Mendieta all playing for the Estadio de Mestalla outfit. Valencia main colors are white and black, whilst they often where orange jerseys and shorts when playing on the travels.
