Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Deportivo Alaves and Celta Vigo face each other at Estadio Mendizorrotza in the closing match of the La Liga round 21. The Basques proved their worth in a 3-1 win over Real Betis, but they are still sitting in the danger zone. Alaves aim to keep on climbing the standings, but Monday’s clash will be anything but a walk in the park for Eduardo Coudet’s troops. Midfielder Antonio Blanco serves a one-game ban, but there are no fresh injury concerns in the home team.
Os Celeste, on the other hand, suffered a dip in form, with the team losing to both Rayo Vallecano and Athletic Bilbao in the last two league matches. As Celta have been struggling defensively of late, we predict that the hosts are going to pick up all three points from the match. Defender Marcos Alonso is widely expected to return to the starting XI after serving his one-game ban against Athletic.
Highlighted Player (Jonathan Bamba):
After spending his youth career at CS Paris-Charenton, UJA AlfortVille and Saint-Etienne, Jonathan Bamba started playing for Saint-Etienne II at senior level. In 2015 he was given a chance to prove his worth with the first team and it has to be noted that he scored eight goals in 42 appearances for les Verts in Ligue 1.
Following his loan spells with Paris, Sint-Truiden and Angers, Jonathan Bamba joined Lille in the summer of 2018. The pacey winger born in Alfortville (France) on March 26, 1996, has been playing for les Dogues ever since, but he has yet to earn a cap for the French national team. Nonetheless, Jonathan Bamba has 12 caps with France U21 in which he scored four goals for les Tricolores.
Jonathan Bamba’s main position is left winger, but he is used as a centre-forward as well. The French footballer, whose preferred foot is right, has a contract with Lille until June 30, 2023.
Highlighted Team (Alaves):
Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
