Our prediction for this League 2 match:
The Wham Stadium will host Saturday’s football game between Accrington and Walsall, the two sides sitting in the opposite halves of the table. Following three consecutive wins, Accrington suffered a 2-1 loss to MK Dons at the weekend, with the team remaining in the danger zone. The Accy Stanley are desperate to get back on course and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Saddlers. Josh Woods is pushing for a start after scoring as a substitute against Accrington, while there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
Mat Sadler’s troops, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Grimsby Town (4-1) and Walsall (3-1) and given Accrington’s poor display in the defeat to MK Dons, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the promotion-chasing visitors. The attacking partnership of Matt and Love has been in a perfect working order of late and the duo is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back-line.
Highlighted Team (Accrington):
Founded back in 1891 and reformed in 1968, Accrington Stanley are an English football club that compete in the League One. The original team competed in the Football League from 1921 to 1962, spending the last four seasons in Lancashire Combination.
The Accy are well known for their red home kit, whilst they wear sky blue shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. The League One side play their home games at Crown Ground, the stadium which can hold up to 5,450 spectators (3,100 seated). Accrington have been playing at Crown Ground since 1970.
Listed as the all-time favourite player amongst fans, Chris Grimshaw is one of the most famous Accrington Stanley footballers. However, George Stewart is the team’s top scorer, netting 136 goals in total from 1954 to 1958. It has to be noted that the Accy have yet to represent England in European competitions.
