Our prediction for this Africa Cup of Nations 2024 match:
Nigeria will look to kickstart their 2024 Africa Cup of Nations campaign in style when they take on Equatorial Guinea at Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara. The Super Eagles have big ambitions for the showpiece tournament in Ivory Coast and with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Joseph Aribo in the squad, they are surely capable of lifting the silverware. Keep in mind, though, that Bayer Leverkusen goal-scoring machine Victor Boniface has been ruled out with injury.
Los Elefantes, on the other hand, are eager to claim a major scalp in their Group A opener, but given the number of high-profile players in Jose Peseiro’s team, home win should be considered. A man to keep an eye on in the away side will be Emilio Nsue, who played for the likes of Mallorca, Middlesbrough, Birmingham City, and APOEL in the past. You should bear in mind that Nigeria emerged triumphant in each of their last three meetings with Equatorial Guinea in all competitions.
