Sparkles will be flying when Club Brugge and Genk go head to head in a highly-anticipated Jupiler League derby. The title holders are eager to melt Genk’s advantage to only one point and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the league leaders. Forward Romeo Vermant serves a one-game ban, while defender Kyriani Sabbe is a major doubt after limping off with injury in a 3-2 win over Antwerp at the weekend.
Genk, on the other hand, are determined to retain top position in the standings. De Smurfen defeated Anderlecht in Brussels thanks to Zakaria El Ouahdi’s late goal, but with important midfielder Nikolas Sattlberger missing the trip to Brugge through suspension, we are tempted to bet on the reigning champions this time out. Genk head coach Thorsten Fink has no fresh injury worries ahead of the Jupiler League derby.

Hans Vanaken is a Belgian footballer who was born in Neerpelt on August 24, 1992. Hans Vanaken is a product of PSV football academy, joining the club at the age of 10, but in 2008 he joined Lommel United. The Belgian midfielder continued wearing the green shirt at senior level, scoring 21 goals in 80 appearances for the club in the league.
In 2013 he moved to Lokeren and after spending two seasons at Daknamstadion, he signed a deal with famous Belgian team Club Brugge. Vanaken has established himself as one of the team’s key players and he is likely to play an important role in the Jan Breydel Stadium outfit in the 2019/2020 Europa League season.
His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is used as both central midfielder and left midfielder as well. He has a contract with Club Brugge until June 30, 2024.

Founded in 1988, Genk are considered one of the youngest clubs in Belgium. Luminus Arena is the home stadium of the club, the capacity of the venue is 24 956 and it was built in 1999. Speaking of UEFA matches, the stadium can hold 21 500 spectators.
Genk clinched one Belgian Pro League trophy in the 20th century, with the team winning the 1989/1999 title. They finished the season with 73 points, two points clear of second-placed Club Brugge. Genk won their second domestic trophy in 2002 and the team lifted the Belgian Pro League title in 2011 as well. Speaking of the Belgian Cup, the club clinched their fourth trophy in the competition in 2013.
