Our prediction for this Belgium Pro League match:
After suffering a heavy 3-0 loss to Standard Liege in the previous league fixture, Club Brugge will be looking to return to winning ways when they face Mechelen in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League round 10. Club Brugge are sitting in the 3rd position but will surely try to climb the standings and move closer to the Champions League berth. Ferran Jutgla will be the main threat for the opposition defenders as he has netted five goals, while providing three assists for his teammates this term. Noa Lang is unlikely to recover in time for the match, whilst both Clinton Mata and Mats Rits remain in the treatment room.
Danny Buijs’ men, on the other hand, have been performing well of late, and they will try to continue in the same manner this weekend, but will have a tough opponent to do so. The visitors struggle on the travels; therefore, we predict that reigning champions will get all three points from this encounter. Lucas Bijker and Kerim Mrabti remain on the sidelines with injuries, while Alessio da Cruz misses out through suspension.
Highlighted Player (Simon Mignolet):
Simon Luc Hildebert Mignolet is a Belgium goalkeeper born on 6 March 1988 in Sint-Truiden. He began his career in a club from his hometown, making 100 league appearances for Sint-Truidense before moving to Sunderland in 2010.
Mignolet would go on to spent next four years at the Stadium of Light, making 90 Premier League appearances. As one of world’s most talented goalkeepers, the Belgium international signed for Liverpool in the summer of 2013, and he has since been the club’s first choice goalkeeper. Performing admirably most of the time, but also committing cheap mistakes at times, Mignolet has yet to win over the Liverpool fans, but remains highly regarded in his native country.
The talented shot-stopper has been a member of the Belgium national team since 2011, earning over 20 caps for the Red Devils, but he has been playing second fiddle to Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois over the last few years.
