Our prediction for this Belgium Pro League match:
Cegeka Arena will be the center of attention when Genk and Anderlecht square off against each other in the Jupiler League derby. Genk are eyeing their third win of the season, but they face a difficult task against Anderlecht, who are eager to bring glory days back to Lotto Park. Both Ndayishimiye and Heynen are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team. Joseph Paintsil is on the verge of leaving the club as both Burnley and Southampton are pushing to sign the Ghana forward.
The capital club, on the other hand, are on a four-game winning run in the Belgian top flight. Considering that Genk head into the match following a difficult Conference League encounter with Adana, we predict that the visitors are going to grab something from Sunday’s derby. Midfielder Yari Verschaeren is sidelined with injury, while both Majeed Ashimeru and Michael Amir Murillo are major doubts.
Highlighted Player (Patrik Hrosovsky):
Born in Prievidza, Czechoslovakia, Patrik Hrosovsky is a midfielder who plays for Viktoria Plzen. Patrik Hrosovsky started his youth career at his hometown club Prievidza and he played for the youth team of Trencin as well before joining Viktoria Plzen.
The Slovakian footballer has been playing for the Viktorka ever since, but it has to be noted that he played for the likes of Sokolov, Usti nad Labem and Znojmo on loan as well. Patrik Hrosovsky made his Slovakia debut on November 19, 2014 in a friendly game against Finland.
His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder as well. Hrosovsky has yet to find the net with the Slovakia national football team, but he found the net for the U21 team in a 7-1 win over Luxembourg at the 2015 European Championship. He has a contract with Viktoria Plzen which expires on June 30, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Anderlecht):
Founded on 27 May, 1908, Anderlecht are considered one of the oldest clubs in Belgium. The Paars-wit are the dominant force in the Belgian Pro League and in 2014 they won their 33rd domestic trophy. Anderlecht did remarkably well to win the UEFA Super Cup title in 1983, with the team defeating Benfica in the final of the competition.
The Belgian outfit recorded a 1-0 over the Eagles in the first leg, with the two teams playing out a 1-1 draw in the return leg. Anderlecht play their home games at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, the venue that was opened in 1917. The stadium was renovated in 1983 and current capacity of Anderlecht’s home ground is 28 063.
The Paars-wit have long-standing rivalries with the likes of Standard Liege and Club Brugge, whilst FC Brussels were considered the club’s bitter opponents in the past. The likes of Besnik Hasi, Lucas Biglia, Filip De Wilde and Romelu Lukaku are some of Anderlecht’s notable players.
