Our prediction for this Belgium Pro League match:
Oostende and Mechelen face each other in a highly-anticipated clash at Diaz Arena. Oostende kicked off their Conference League group campaign with a 6-2 crushing of Standard, but they are on a three-game losing run ahead of the visit of Mechelen. Since Alexander Blessin’s troops have been struggling at the back of late, we do not believe that home win should be considered. First-choice goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert is banned for the match, which is yet another reason why home win should not be considered.
Mechelen, on the other hand, are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in the Jupiler League. De Kakkers proved their worth in the 3-1 win over Standard, and given Oostende’s shaky defence, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visiting team. Attacker Nikola Storm, who suffered an injury at the weekend, is unlikely to feature in the midweek clash.
