Club Brugge
Sparkles will be flying when Standard Liege and Club Brugge lock horns in the Jupiler League derby on Saturday evening. The Red Devils desperately needed a win against Westerlo and they managed to get one (2-0), with the team putting an end to their four-game winless run. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be pacey forward Adnane Abid, who produced a brilliant display against Westerlo, while boss Vincent Euvrard has no fresh injury worries.
The Jupiler League vice-champions, on the other hand, are eager to melt Royale Union SG’s advantage in the standings. Club Brugge are more of a team than Standard Liege, but given their negative record at Maurice Dufrasnestadion, away win should not be considered. As Nicky Hayen’s men have not defeated the Red Devils at the venue since 2017, we are tempted to place our bets on draw. Experienced goalkeeper Simon Mignolet continues to miss out for the visiting team.

Hans Vanaken is a Belgian footballer who was born in Neerpelt on August 24, 1992. Hans Vanaken is a product of PSV football academy, joining the club at the age of 10, but in 2008 he joined Lommel United. The Belgian midfielder continued wearing the green shirt at senior level, scoring 21 goals in 80 appearances for the club in the league.
In 2013 he moved to Lokeren and after spending two seasons at Daknamstadion, he signed a deal with famous Belgian team Club Brugge. Vanaken has established himself as one of the team’s key players and he is likely to play an important role in the Jan Breydel Stadium outfit in the 2019/2020 Europa League season.
His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is used as both central midfielder and left midfielder as well. He has a contract with Club Brugge until June 30, 2024.

Standard are a Belgian football club based in Liege. The club was founded back in 1898 and 11 years later they joined Belgian First League. Les Rouches (the Reds) immediately dropped to the lower leagues, but in 1921 they returned to the Belgian top flight. Standard won their first Belgian League trophy in 1958, but you should have in mind that they were level on points with second-placed Royal Antwerp.
In 2009 the Reds clinched their tenth domestic title, beating Anderlecht in the title game. Talented midfielder Axel Witsel scored the winner for Standard in the 1-0 triumph over their bitter rivals. Standard play their home games at Stade Maurice Dufrasne, the venue that was opened in 1909. The capacity of the stadium is 30 023.
Maurice Dufrasne was the club’s chairman from 1909 until 1931. Speaking of the club’s European success, Standard participated in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final in 1982, losing to La Liga giants Barcelona in the title game.
