Our prediction for this Bundesliga 2 match:
Nurnberg will be aiming to make amends for a 1-0 loss to Elversberg when they face Darmstadt in the 2. Bundesliga round 2. The Bavarians were producing excellent performances at home last season, but they are still seen as underdogs in Friday’s clash with Darmstadt. Midfielder Caspar Jander remains in the recovery room, but there are no other injury worries in the home team ahead of Darmstadt’s visit.
The Lilywhites, on the other hand, aim to build on a thrilling 4-1 win over Bochum. Given Darmstadt’s excellent offensive display in the season opener and Nurnberg’s attacking potential at home, there is a big value in betting on over 2.5 goals. It has to be noted, though, that under 2.5 goals have been netted in the previous four meetings between the two sides. A man to watch in the away team will be forward Isac Lidberg, who scored a hat-trick in the season opener.
