Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Sunday’s football game at Signal-Iduna-Park pits together Borussia Dortmund and Arminia Bielefeld, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the season finale. Borusssia do not want to give up on their title dream, while Arminia are fighting hard to secure yet another Bundesliga survival. Marco Rose’s men were not in action at the weekend, meaning that tired legs will not prove to be a problem for the home side.
Even though key attacker Erling Haland has been struggling with injury of late, home win should be considered as Borussia Dortmund are desperate to melt Bayern Munich’s advantage in the standings. The likes of Zagadou, Moukoko, Meunier, Akanji, and Reyna miss out with injuries as well. Die Arminien, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Augsburg, which is yet another reason why we are going to put our money on the promotion-chasing hosts. Both Masaya Okugawa and Patrick Wimmer are out of contention with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Marco Reus):
Marco Reus is a German football player who was born on 31 May, 1989. The pacey attacking midfielder, who is capable of playing as a winger as well, started his senior career at Rot Weiss Ahlen and it has to be noted that he made 43 league appearances for the club in lower leagues.
In 2009 he signed a four-year contract with Borussia M’gladbach and he scored his first Bundesliga goal against Mainz on 28 August, 2009. After impressing with the Fohlen in the 2011/2012 Bundesliga campaign, he joined Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season. He has been playing for the Millionaires ever since and he represents Germany on the international stage as well.
However, he was more than unfortunate to miss the 2014 FIFA World Cup with injury when Joachim Low’s team lifted the prestigious trophy. To make things even worse for Marco Reus, he was forced to withdraw from the Germany Euro 2016 squad as well (injury). The German ace has a contract with Borussia Dortmund which expires on 30 June, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Arminia Bielefeld):
Arminia Bielefeld is a German club founded on May 3, 1905. Die Arminen play home games at Bielefelder Alm. The venue was built in 1926, and it can hold up to 26,515 spectators. Arminia Bielefeld have yet to win the Bundesliga trophy, but they did well to lift the West German Cup title on two occasions (1966, 1974).
Back in 1922 they won the Western German football championship, with the team repeating the success the following year. Arminia Bielefeld wear dark blue shirts when playing at home ground, while white is the dominant colour of their away jersey. In the 2019/20 season Arminia returned to the Bundesliga, where they undisputedly belong.
Bruno Labbadia is considered one of the most famous footballers who played for the club. The ex Bayern Munchen attacker scored 50 goals in 98 appearances in the league for Arminia Bielefeld. Labbadia has two caps for the German national team, and six for the West Germany U21.
