Hoffenheim kick off the new Bundesliga campaign with a home game against Freiburg on Saturday afternoon. Hoffenheim finished the 2022/2023 Bundesliga season in 12th position and, no doubt, they are eyeing at least top-ten finish this time out. The club chiefs managed to keep hold of key attacker Andrej Kramaric in the summer transfer window, but keep in mind that all Attila Szalai, Dennis Geiger, Fisnik Asslani, and Umut Tohumcu miss the season opener with injuries.
Freiburg management, on the other hand, still have faith in head coach Christian Streich, who has big ambitions for the upcoming season. The Breisgau Brazilians will represent Germany in the Europa League group stages, but their main goal is to kickstart the new domestic campaign in style. Freiburg are more of a team than Hoffenheim and we predict that the visitors will prove their worth on the field. Midfielder Nicolas Hofler is banned for the match, while Vincenzo Grifo is a major doubt.

Oliver Baumann is a German goalkeeper who was born on 2 June, 1990 in Breisach. The 187-cm-tall shoot-stopper began his youth career at FC Bad Krozingen and in 2002 he joined Freiburg youth school. He started playing for Freiburg II at senior level and he made 22 appearances for the team in the 2009/2010 season. After making 131 appearances for the first team, he signed a four-year deal with Hoffenheim on 14 May, 2014.
Oliver Baumann played for Germany U18, U19, U20 and U21 teams and it has to be noted that he has 10 caps for the U21 team. However, he has yet to represent the senior team on the international stage. It has to be noted that Baumann made 33 league appearances for Hoffenheim in the 2015/2016 Bundesliga campaign, conceding 50 goals in the process.
