Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Mainz will look to make amends for a 2-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen when they host Borussia M’gladbach to their Mewa Arena on Saturday afternoon. Die Nullfunfer defeated Augsburg 1-0 in their last home fixture, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of M’gladbach. Jessic Ngankam is banned for the match as well as Anthony Caci, while both Danny da Costa and Ludovic Ajorque are major doubts due to illness.
Die Fohlen, on the other hand, rolled over Bochum 5-2 in their last league match, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence. Home win, though, should be considered this time out as Mainz are desperate to escape the relegation zone. To make things even worse for the visiting side, both Nico Elvedi and Ko Itakura are sidelined through suspension, while the likes of Alassane Plea, Tomas Cvancara, and Jonas Omlin remain in the treatment room.
