Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Stadion An der Alten Forsterei will host Wednesday’s football game between Union Berlin and Augsburg, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. Union Berlin dropped to third place following a massive 5-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen, but they are still seen as hot favourites to beat the Bavarians on home soil. All Michel, Seguin, and Behrens are pushing for a start, while all Andras Schafer, Frederik Ronnow, and Kevin Mohwald are out of contention with injuries.
Augsburg, on the other hand, do not seem to be at their sharpest ahead of Matchday 14, with the team collecting only one point in total from the last four league fixtures. Union Berlin are a real force to be reckoned with at home, and we predict that they will pick up all three points from the midweek clash. Keep in mind, though, that both Gruezo and Rexhbecaj are back from suspension for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Rani Khedira):
Just like his brother Sami, Rani Khedira started his senior career at Stuttgart. The midfielder made 56 league appearances for Stuttgart II, while playing nine matches for the first team. In 2014 he joined Leipzig and he has been playing for Die Bullen ever since.
Rani Khedira was born on 27 January, 1994 in Stuttgart and he has 2 caps for Germany U19 team. The Leipzig midfielder represented Germany U17 at the 2011 FIFA World Cup. Khedira played 15 matches for Leipzig in the 2015/2016 2. Bundesliga campaign and he certainly helped the team secure promotion to the German elite division. He is a central midfielder, but he plays as a defensive midfielder as well.
Khedira has a contract with Leipzig which expires on 30 June, 2017. His highest market value was €1,300,000 on 13 January, 2015. Rani Khedira was born in Germany, but his father is Tunisian. He is a right-footed footballer.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA.
The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages.
Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
