Our prediction for this Championship match:
Saturday’s football game at Oakwell pits together Barnsley and Hull City, the two teams who sit in the relegation zone ahead of Matchday 17. The Tykes desperately needed a win against Derby County, and they managed to get one. Barnsley now aim to escape the relegation zone, and they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s clash. Both Halme and Morris remain in the recovery room, but they should be the only absentees in the home team.
The Tigers, on the other hand, have been struggling in the first half of the season, with the team collecting only 9 points from possible 48. Hull City suffered a 1-0 loss at WBA in midweek, and given their dreadful losing run, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. Defender Alfie Jones, who limped off with injury in the midweek defeat, is unlikely to feature against Barnsley.
Highlighted Player (Patrick Schmidt):
Patrick Schmidt is an Austria international who plays for Championship club Barnsley as a forward. Born in Eisenstadt, Austria on July 22, 1998 Schmidt began his senior career at Admira Wacker. After making 46 appearances for Admira Wacker II, the 179-cm tall striker started playing for the first-team in the 2016/2017 Austrian Bundesliga season.
Three years later Patrick Schmidt decided to take a step forward in his football career as he signed a four-year deal with Barnsley. The full-of-pace forward scored eight goals in the 2018/2019 season for Admira and he is widely expected to shine with the Tykes in the 2019/2020 Championship campaign. It has to be noted that Schmidt played for Austria U16, U17, U18 and U19 teams.
The Barnsley attacker currently represents Austria U21 team in international matches. His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
