Friday’s football game at Oakwell pits together Barnsley and Reading, the two teams who are eyeing a place in the playoffs. Barnsley suffered a shocking 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday before the international break, but their form in 2021 is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Reading. Anyhow, the Tykes are likely to stick to their attacking style of play, and we predict that they will find the net in the Oakwell clash.
The Royals, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their three-game winless run in the Championship. Veljko Paunovic is doing a great job with the Madejski Stadium outfit, and given their attacking potential, both teams to score betting option should be considered. In the previous meeting between the two sides at the venue they played out a 1-1 draw.

Patrick Schmidt is an Austria international who plays for Championship club Barnsley as a forward. Born in Eisenstadt, Austria on July 22, 1998 Schmidt began his senior career at Admira Wacker. After making 46 appearances for Admira Wacker II, the 179-cm tall striker started playing for the first-team in the 2016/2017 Austrian Bundesliga season.
Three years later Patrick Schmidt decided to take a step forward in his football career as he signed a four-year deal with Barnsley. The full-of-pace forward scored eight goals in the 2018/2019 season for Admira and he is widely expected to shine with the Tykes in the 2019/2020 Championship campaign. It has to be noted that Schmidt played for Austria U16, U17, U18 and U19 teams.
The Barnsley attacker currently represents Austria U21 team in international matches. His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well.

Reading FC is a professional football club that play in the Championship. The club was formed in 1871 and Madejski Stadium has been the home of Reading since 1998. The Royals used to play their home games at Elm Park in the past (1896 - 1998). Reading made it to the FA Cup semi-finals on two occasions (1927, 2015), but they have yet to win the prestigious trophy.
The likes of Robin Friday, Trevor Senior, Steve Death, Shaka Hislop, Phil Parkinson, Alf Messer, Jimmy Quinn, Michael Gilkes, Ronnie Blackman, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Martin Hicks are some of their more notable footballers.
