Our prediction for this Championship match:
Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest square off against each other at St. Andrew’s Stadium in the Championship round 43. The Blues aim to build on back-to-back wins over Stoke City and Rotherham United, and they must be high on spirits ahead of the midweek clash. Both Boyd-Munce and Toral are out of contention through injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Reds, on the other hand, suffered a 2-0 loss to Huddersfield Town at the weekend, but despite the defeat, they should secure the Championship survival. Considering that Birmingham City have been in a splendid form of late, we predict that the Reds will return home empty-handed. The likes of Arter, Bachirou, and Lolley are sidelined with injuries for the visiting team, while Bong and Figueiredo are rated doubtful for the St. Andrew’s Stadium clash.
Highlighted Player (Maxime Colin):
After spending two seasons at Boulogne, Maxime Colin joined Troyes in 2012. The pacey right back made 55 appearances for Troyes and in 2014 he signed a three-year deal with Belgian side Anderlecht. On 13 September, 2014 he made his Anderlecht debut, in a 2-2 draw with Lierse.
After playing 16 games for the Belgian outfit in the 2014/2015 Pro League campaign, Maxime Colin signed a four-year contract with Brentford in August, 2015 for an undisclosed fee. Reports in England suggested, though, that the fee was around £900,000. Colin made his Brentford debut on 22 August, 2015 in a 1-0 loss to Burnley and it has to be noted that he came on as a substitute 30 minutes before the final whistle.
Speaking of his international career, the defender, who was born on 15 November, 1991, has seven caps for the France U20 team. Colin made France U20 World Cup squad as well and he played a part in matches against Colombia and Mexico.
Highlighted Team (Nottingham Forest):
Nottingham Forest, the club that are often referred to as Forest, were formed in 1865. They have been playing their home games at the City Ground since 1898 and the capacity of the stadium is 30,445. Nottingham Forest are regarded as one of the greatest English clubs as they won the European Cup on two occasions. In 1979 Forest outplayed Malmo (1-0) at the Olympiastadion in Munich in the final of the elite competition, with the team beating Hamburg in 1980 in the title game at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu (1-0).
Nottingham Forest won the national championship in the 1977/1978 season, with the team finishing the campaign seven points clear of second-placed Liverpool. To make things even better for the fans, the City Ground outfit clinched the FA Cup trophies in 1898 and 1959. Derby County are regarded as Forest’s bitterest rivals and the two local rivals contest in the East Midlands derby. In their first ever meeting in the local derby Forest recorded a 3-2 win over Derby County.
