Blackburn Rovers will look to kickstart the new Championship campaign in style when they take on Derby County on Friday evening. The Riversiders are determined to return to the Premier League, but that is easier said than done. The club chiefs have signed permanent deals with the likes of Makhtar Gueye, Yuki Ohashi, Andreas Weimann, Danny Batth, and Jack Barrett, while forward Sam Gallagher is no longer part of the team.
The Rams, on the other hand, are eager to impress on their return to the English second tier, but seeing that Blackburn are tough to beat at Ewood Park, we are going to place our bets on draw. Blackburn were founded back in 1875 and they are one of the founding members of the Football League (1888).
Burnley are considered Blackburn’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the East Lancashire derby. It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888.
