Our prediction for this Championship match:
Newly-promoted Burnley will be aiming to put the icing on the cake on a very successful Championship season when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to their Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon. The Clarets have been impressive at home ground this season, and it is no wonder the bookies see them as hot favourites to beat the Hoops on Matchday 44. Jay Rodriguez is a major doubt, while both Josh Brownhill and Nathan Tella remain in the recovery room.
The capital club, on the other hand, are desperate to escape the danger zone, but seeing that they suffered four defeats in the previous five away matches, we predict that the league leaders are going to pick up all three points from the Turf Moor showdown. A man to watch in the away team will be Lyndon Dykes, who found the net in a 1-1 draw with Norwich City, while all Balogun, Kakay, and Armstrong continue to miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Bailey Peacock-Farrell):
Despite being born in Darlington, England on October 29, 1996, Bailey Peacock-Farrell represents Northern Ireland at senior level. The Northern Ireland international started his youth career at Middlesbrough, but in 2013 he joined Leeds United. The talented goalkeeper continued playing for Leeds United senior team and, no doubt, there is a bright future ahead of him.
Bailey Peacock-Farrell made his first-team debut for the Whites on April 5, 2016 in a home game against Queens Park Rangers. The two played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road and it has to be noted that the goalkeeper conceded a penalty kick in the 87th minute of the match. The 192-cm tall shot-stopper has a contract with Leeds United which should expire on June, 2020.
As previously mentioned, the Leeds United goalkeeper represents Northern Ireland on the international stage, qualifying for the national team thanks to his grandfather Jim Farreell, who was born in Enniskillen.
Highlighted Team (QPR):
Queens Park Rangers are well known as QPR. The capital club was founded in 1886 and Loftus Road Stadium is QPR’s ground. Loftus Road Stadium was opened in 1904 and the capacity of the venue 18,439. However, it has to be noted that no less than 35,353 spectators watched the game between QPR and Leeds on 27 April, 1974.
The Hoops finished the 1975/1976 First Division campaign in second position in the standings, just behind champions Liverpool. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but Queens Park Rangers made it to the FA Cup final in 1982 as well.
QPR were beaten by fellow capital club Tottenham Hotspur in the title game, but they did well to lift the League Cup trophy in 1967. Queens Park’s main rivals are Brentford, Chelsea and Fulham, but other clubs based in London are considered QPR’s rivals as well. The colour of QPR’s shirts is blue and white.
