Our prediction for this Championship match:
Cardiff City will be looking to extend their winning run in the Championship to three games when they welcome Coventry City at their Cardiff City Stadium on Matchday 29. The Bluebirds aim to keep their playoffs hopes alive, and we are positive that they will adopt yet another attack-minded approach against the Sky Blues. Even though Bamba, Osei-Tutu, Tomlin, and Vassell have been struggling with injuries, home win should be considered.
Coventry, on the other hand, failed to win the previous three league fixtures, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the Welsh outfit. All Dabo, Godden, Jones, Kelly, Thompson, and Walker are likely to miss the game through injuries. In the first half of the season Coventry defeated Cardiff 1-0, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Player (Leandro Bacuna):
Despite being born in Netherlands Leandro Bacuna decided to represent Curacao on international stage. The powerful midfielder, who parents are of Curacaoan descent, is a product of Groningen youth school and it has to be noted that he scored 14 goals in 109 appearances for the first team.
After ending his spell with Groningen, Leandro Bacuna joined Aston Villa in 2013 and he has been playing for the Villa Park outfit ever since. The Curacao international scored his first Premier League goal in September, 2013 against Manchester City, but seeing that Aston Villa coaches often used him as a full back he was not impressive in front of goal in previous seasons.
Leandro Bacuna was born in Groningen on August 21, 1991 and it has to be noted that he received his first call-up for the Curacao national football team 25 years later, in March 2016. The two teams played out a 1-1 draw in San Salvador, with Bacuna picking up a yellow card in the 54th minute of the game.
Highlighted Team (Coventry):
Nicknamed the Sky Blues, Coventry City are an English football club that compete in the League One. Coventry City, who were founded on August 13, 1883 as Singers FC, wear sky blue kit when playing on home soil, whilst their away colour is white.
Aston Villa and Leicester City are considered the club’s main rivals, but they have rivalry with fellow West Midlands clubs Wallsall and Burton Albion as well. Coventry City have yet to win the Premier League trophy, but they did well to go all the way in the FA Cup in the 1986/1987 season, with the team beat Charlton Athletic in the two-legged final. They share stadium with Birmingham City, with both clubs playing their home games at St. Andrew’s Stadium.
Built in December, 1906, St. Andrew’s Stadium can hold up to 29,409 spectators. Dion Dublin is one of the most famous Coventry City players, with the legendary centre-forward scoring 61 goals in 145 appearances for the club in the league.
