Our prediction for this Championship match:
Cardiff City and Fulham face each other at Cardiff City Stadium in what is expected to be an interesting Championship game. The Bluebirds are 15 points clear of the relegation zone, meaning that they are safe for now. The Welsh outfit aim to make amends for a 2-1 loss to Huddersfield, but they will have a big fish to fry against the league leaders. All Max Watters, Curtis Nelson, and Sean Morrison should miss out with injuries for the home team.
The Cottagers, on the other hand, defeated relegation-threatened Peterborough 2-1 in their last league match, with the team moving one step closer to securing automatic promotion. Fulham are eleven points clear of third-place QPR, meaning that they would be happy with one point from Saturday’s clash. Terence Kongolo is sidelined with injury, but he should be the only absentee in the away team. A man to watch in the away side will be Aleksandar Mitrovic, who scored a brace in the midweek triumph.
Highlighted Player (Leandro Bacuna):
Despite being born in Netherlands Leandro Bacuna decided to represent Curacao on international stage. The powerful midfielder, who parents are of Curacaoan descent, is a product of Groningen youth school and it has to be noted that he scored 14 goals in 109 appearances for the first team.
After ending his spell with Groningen, Leandro Bacuna joined Aston Villa in 2013 and he has been playing for the Villa Park outfit ever since. The Curacao international scored his first Premier League goal in September, 2013 against Manchester City, but seeing that Aston Villa coaches often used him as a full back he was not impressive in front of goal in previous seasons.
Leandro Bacuna was born in Groningen on August 21, 1991 and it has to be noted that he received his first call-up for the Curacao national football team 25 years later, in March 2016. The two teams played out a 1-1 draw in San Salvador, with Bacuna picking up a yellow card in the 54th minute of the game.
Highlighted Team (Fulham):
Fulham are a club from London that play in the Premier League. The capital club dropped to the English second tier at the end of the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign after failing to impress in the elite competition, but managed to return in season 2018/2019.
Fulham were founded in 1879 and they play their home matches at Craven Cottage. Fulham are the oldest-established club from the English capital to have played in the top flight.
Fulham finished the 2008/2009 Premier League campaign in seventh place in the standings and that is considered the team’s biggest success, speaking of their participation in the Premier League.
The Cottagers played in the Europa League twice and they did well to reach the FA Cup final in 1975, but they were beaten by their local rivals West Ham United in the title game (0-2). Chelsea are regarded as Fulham’s bitter rivals as well and the two teams take on each other in the North London derby.
