Our prediction for this Championship match:
High-flying Fulham will be aiming to regain top position in the standings when they host Hull City to their Craven Cottage on Matchday 4. The Cottagers head into the match following back-to-back wins over Huddersfield (5-1) and Millwall (2-1), and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Serbia international Aleksandar Mitrovic has been impressive under new manager Marco Silva, and we are positive that the former Newcastle attacker will pose a big threat to the opposition defenders.
All Cairney, Kongolo, and Le Marchand remain in the recovery room, while both Knockaert and Reed are major doubts. The Tigers, on the other hand, failed to impress in back-to-back defeats to QPR (0-3) and Derby (0-1), and we do not believe that they are capable of claiming a major scalp on day 4. Both Honeyman and Wilks are out of contention through injuries.
Highlighted Player (Tom Cairney):
Tom Cairney is a professional footballer who plays for Fulham. His main position is central midfielder, but he plays as an attacking midfielder and a right midfielder as well. The left-footed player was born in Nottingham, England on 20 January, 1991 and he started his youth career at Leeds United.
In 2007 he moved to Hull City and he was named Hull’s Young Player of the Year for the 2008/2009 campaign. After making 70 league appearances for the Tigers he joined Blackburn Rovers on 1 August, 2013 on loan and on 2 January, 2014 he signed a permanent deal with the Riversiders. At the end of the 2014/2015 Championship campaign he joined Fulham.
Tom Cairney’s father is Scottish and, as a result, the Fulham footballer decided to represent Scotland on the international stage. Cairney has 2 caps for Scotland U-21 and he made 6 appearances for Scotland U-21 team. It has to be noted that he suffered a serious injury in August 2012. The injury forced him to be out of contention for over three months.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
