Our prediction for this Championship match:
Saturday’s football game at Kirklees Stadium pits together Huddersfield Town and Hull City, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2021/2022 Championship campaign. The Terriers are eyeing a place in the playoffs, while the Tigers’ main goal is to avoid relegation the League One. Huddersfield are after their fourth home win of the season, and they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways.
All Ryan Schofield, Aaron Rowe, Alex Vallejo, Levi Colwill, Pipa, and Jordan Rhodes are likely to miss the game with injuries. Hull City, on the other hand, recorded a morale-boosting 2-0 win over Middlesbrough before the international break, but given their poor away record, we are tempted to put our money on the Terriers this time out. Both Alfie Jones and Tom Huddlestone are out of contention for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Richard Stearman):
Born in Wolverhampton, England on August 19, 1987 Richard Stearman is a defender who represented the Three Lions at youth level. Stearman has four caps for England U21 team and he played nine games for the under-17 squad as well.
The 191-cm-tall footballer is a product of Leicester City football academy and he made his first-team debut with the club on October 30, 2004 in a goalless draw with Cardiff City. The English defender scored five goals in 211 appearances in the league for the Foxes before joining Wolverhampton in the summer of 2008.
He signed a four-year deal with the Wolves and he made his debut for the club on August 9, 2008 in a 2-2 draw with Plymouth. From 2015 to 2017 he played for Fulham and at the end of the 2016/2017 Championship campaign he joined Sheffield United. Richard Sterman’s main position is centre-back, but he is used as a right-back as well.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
