Our prediction for this Championship match:
Middlesbrough play host to Cardiff City at their Riverside Stadium in what is expected to be an interesting Championship game. The Boro quickly bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Watford, with the team beating Sunderland 1-0 thanks to Riley McGree’s goal, and, no doubt, they are high on spirits ahead of the visit of Cardiff. Goalkeeper Zack Steffen remains in the recovery room, with Liam Roberts likely to keep his place in goal, while Paddy McNair is a major doubt. Both Darragh Lenihan and Chuba Akpom remain in the treatment room.
The Bluebirds, on the other hand, suffered yet another dip in form, with the team collecting only one point in total from the last four league fixtures, and given their difficulties in front of goal, punters from all four corners of the world can find value in betting on the home side. All Kion Etete, Jamilu Colins, and Ebou Adams are out of contention with injuries, while Callum O’Dowda faces race against clock to be fit for the midweek clash.
Highlighted Player (Sammy Ameobi):
Sammy Ameobi is the younger brother of a famoust Newcastle United player Shola. Sammy is a product of Newcastle United football academy as well and he scored two goals in 56 appearances for the first team. The pacey attacker played for the likes of Middlesbrough, Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers on loan in the past before signing a permanent deal with the Trotters on July 14, 2017.
Sammy Ameobi was born in Newcastle upon Tyne on May 1, 1992, but he has two caps for Nigeria U20 team. The left-footed footballer played for the England U21 team as well, but he has yet to make his senior debut for the Three Lions. Ameobi’s main position is centre-forward, but he is capable of playing as a winger as well.
Sammy Ameobi made his Bolton debut on September 3, 2016 against Southend and it has to be noted that he scored two goals in 20 appearances for the club in the 2016/2017 League One campaign. At the end of the season Bolton were promoted to the Championship.
Highlighted Team (Cardiff):
Cardiff City are a Welsh football club that compete in the English second tier (Championship). In 2009 they moved from Ninian Park to Cardiff City Stadium, the venue that officially holds 33,280 spectators.
The Bluebirds played their first ever Premier League match on 18 August, 2013, but they were beaten by West Ham United (0-2) on their debut in the English top flight. However, a week later Fraizer Campbell (two goals) and Aron Gunnarson helped Cardiff City record their first ever win in the Premier League.
The Bluebirds outplayed Manchester City back then, but they eventually dropped to the Championship at the end of the season. Fellow Welsh outfit Swansea City are considered Cardiff’s fiercest rivals and the two teams take on each other in the South Wales derby.
The colour of Cardiff City’s home kit is blue, whilst they wear red shirts and shorts when playing on the travels.
