Our prediction for this Championship match:
Following a 2-0 loss to WBA, Middlesbrough will look to move closer to automatic promotion berth when they take on Reading on Matchday 35. The Boro have turned their Riverside Stadium into a real fortress, with the team eyeing their 10th home win of the process, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. Both Patrick Mcnair and Matt Clarke are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Royals, on the other hand, are on a four-game losing run on the road, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. In their last meeting at the venue Middlesbrough defeated Reading 2-1, and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. As for the away side, all Lucas Joao Abdul-Rahman Baba, Sam Hutchinson, and Dejan Tetek remain in the recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Duncan Watmore):
Duncan Watmore is an English footballer who started his youth career at the famous Manchester United football academy. The 175-cm-tall winger then joined Altrincham at the age of 16 and he continued playing for the lower-league club at senior level.
After scoring 15 goals in 48 appearances for the club in the league, Watmore moved to Sunderland in 2013, but it has to be noted that he played for the likes of Clitheroe and Curzon Ashton on loan as well during his spell with Altrincham.
During the 2014/2015 season he played 9 games for the Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, but he returned to Sunderland at the end of the campaign. Duncan Watmore has 13 caps for the England U21 team, but he has yet to make his debut with the senior team. His main position is winger, but he is capable of producing fine performances as centre-forward as well.
Highlighted Team (Reading):
Reading FC is a professional football club that play in the Championship. The club was formed in 1871 and Madejski Stadium has been the home of Reading since 1998. The Royals used to play their home games at Elm Park in the past (1896 - 1998). Reading made it to the FA Cup semi-finals on two occasions (1927, 2015), but they have yet to win the prestigious trophy.
The likes of Robin Friday, Trevor Senior, Steve Death, Shaka Hislop, Phil Parkinson, Alf Messer, Jimmy Quinn, Michael Gilkes, Ronnie Blackman, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Martin Hicks are some of their more notable footballers. Aldershot Town were considered Reading’s fiercest rivals, but the Shots went out of business in 1992.
Seeing that Aldershot rejoined the league in 2008 it remains to be seen if the rivalry is going to be re-established in near future. Swindon Town and Oxford United are considered Reading’s big rivals as well.
