Our prediction for this Championship match:
Saturday’s football game at Weston Homes Stadium pits together Peterborough and Fulham, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2021/2022 Championship season. Peterborough are fighting hard to secure the survival, while Fulham are eyeing automatic promotion to the Premier League. The Posh came from behind to share the spoils with Huddersfield on Tuesday evening, but they had no more than nine goal attempts in the midweek draw.
All Jones, Marriott, and Randall are likely to miss the Fulham game with injuries. The Cottagers, on the other hand, continue to rely on Serbia ace Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has been scoring goals for fun of late. The capital club rolled over ten-man Blackburn 7-0 in midweek, and they are surely capable of beating Peterborough on Matchday 17. Ivan Cavaleiro faces race against clock to be fit for Saturday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Mark Beevers):
Born in Barnsley, England on November 21, 1989, Mark Beevers is a 193-cm tall defender who plays for Peterborough United. The product of Sheffield Wednesday football school made 140 appearances in the league for the Owls before signing a permanent deal with fellow Championship club Millwall.
Mark Beevers scored 7 goals in 117 appearances for the Lions, playing for the club until the 2016 transfer window. The English defender then moved to Bolton where he scored 11 goals in 121 appearances in the league.
In May 2019 Mark Beevers signed a three-year deal with Peterborough United. He made his League One debut with the Posh in a 3-1 loss to Fleetwood Town on August 3, 2019. His main position is centre-back, but he is used as a left-back as well. His preferred foot is left and he has a contract with Peterborough United which should expire on June 30, 2022.
Highlighted Team (Fulham):
Fulham are a club from London that play in the Premier League. The capital club dropped to the English second tier at the end of the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign after failing to impress in the elite competition, but managed to return in season 2018/2019.
Fulham were founded in 1879 and they play their home matches at Craven Cottage. Fulham are the oldest-established club from the English capital to have played in the top flight.
Fulham finished the 2008/2009 Premier League campaign in seventh place in the standings and that is considered the team’s biggest success, speaking of their participation in the Premier League.
The Cottagers played in the Europa League twice and they did well to reach the FA Cup final in 1975, but they were beaten by their local rivals West Ham United in the title game (0-2). Chelsea are regarded as Fulham’s bitter rivals as well and the two teams take on each other in the North London derby.
