Our prediction for this Championship match:
Deepdale will host Saturday’s football game between Preston and Ipswich Town, the two teams who shared the spoils with Millwall and Leicester City respectively in their last league matches. The Lilywhites aim to move closer to the playoffs berth and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at the Tractor Boys. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team ahead of the visit of Ipswich.
The visitors, on the other hand, are eager to stay in the automatic promotion berth. Ipswich Town failed to turn their dominance into more goals in a 2-1 FA Cup loss to Maidstone, but given their attacking potential, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. Earlier this term Ipswich Town defeated Preston 4-2 and yet another high-scoring affair is on the cards. Kieran McKenna should have a full squad to choose from.
Highlighted Player (Greg Cunningham):
Greg Cunningham is a product of Manchester City football academy. Irish footballer, who was born on January 31, 1991 in Galway, though, made no more than two appearances for Manchester City in the Premier League. After ending his loan spells with Leicester City and Nottingham Forest the defender moved to Bristol City in 2012 and he played for the Robins from 2012 to 2015.
Creg Cunningham did well to win the Football League Trophy with Bristol City in the 2014/2015 season, but at the end of the season he moved to Preston North End. The Irish footballer has established himself as a first-team regular at Preston and it has to be noted that he was appointed captain of the team on July 24, 2017.
Speaking of his international career, Greg Cunningham made his debut for Republic of Ireland on May 28, 2010 in a 3-0 win over Algeria. His main position is left-back, but he is capable of playing as a centre-back if needed as well.
Highlighted Team (Ipswich):
Ipswich Town are an English football club that was formed in 1878. Portman Road has been the home ground of Ipswich Town since 1894 and the capacity of the venue, which was expanded in 2002, is 30,311. The Tractor Boys compete in the Championship, but they used to play in the English Premier League in the past as well. Ipswich Town last appeared in the elite division in the 2001/2002 season.
Ipswich won the FA Cup in 1978, with the team beating Arsenal (1-0) in the title game. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1981 when they outplayed AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Cup final. It has to be noted that the Tractor Boys have yet to suffer a loss at home ground in the European competitions.
Norwich City are regarded as Ipswich Town’s bitterest rivals and it is well known that the two sides take on each other in the East Anglian derby.
