Our prediction for this Championship match:
Queens Park Rangers will look to put an end to their three-game losing run in the Championship when they welcome Blackburn to their Loftus Road on Matchday 34. The Hoops do not seem to be at their sharpest, and, as a result, they are sitting in 18th place in the standings ahead of Saturday’s clash. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, but all Laird, Willock, Clarke-Salter, Dykes, and Balogun remain in the recovery room.
The Riversiders, on the other hand, have been in a fine form of late, with the team beating both Swansea and Blackpool in the last two league fixtures, and we predict that they will take advantage of QPR’s poor form as well. Keep in mind, though, that Blackburn Rovers key attacker Ben Brereton Diaz, who has netted ten goals so far this term, is sidelined with a hamstring problem.
Highlighted Player (Jordan Archer):
Jordan Archer is an English goalkeeper who plays for Millwall in the Championship. Archer started his career in the youth team of Charlton Athletic and he moved to Tottenham Hotspur football academy in 2009. However, he did not see a first-team football at White Hart Lane as he was inmeditely sent on loan to Harrow Bourough (2011).
After ending his loan spells with the likes of Bishop’s Storford, Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton he signed a loan deal with Millwall in 2015 and he was soon offered a permanent contract with the capital club. Jordan Archer made 39 appearances for the Lions in the 2016/2017 League One campaign and it has to be noted that he managed to keep 11 clean sheets n the process.
Millwall secured promotion to the Championship at the end of the season as they defeated Bradford City in the final of the League One play-offs. Jordan Archer was born in Walthamstow, England on April 12, 1993.
Highlighted Team (Blackburn Rovers):
Blackburn Rovers have been trying to return to the Premier League ever since they dropped to the Championship in 2012. The Riversiders compete in the English second tier and they play their home games at Ewood Park. Blackburn were founded back in 1875 and they are one of the founding members of the Football League (1888).
Burnley are considered Blackburn’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the East Lancashire derby. It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888. The Riversiders have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies (1911/1912, 1913/1914, 1994/1995).
Blackburn Rovers have clinched six FA Cup titles as well. Speaking of the club’s European success, the Riversiders won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007. The colour of Blackburn’s home kit is blue and white.
