Our prediction for this Championship match:
Sheffield United will look to bounce back from an embarrassing 4-0 loss to WBA when they take on Huddersfield Town on Matchday 4. New boss Slavisa Jokanovic feels pressure ahead of Saturday’s clash, and we are positive that his men are going to leave their hearts on the field. The Blades have yet to find the net in the new Championship campaign, but this game could be the turning point for the hosts.
Oliver McBurnie is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while both Mousset and Stevens remain on the sidelines through injuries. The Terriers, on the other hand, did well to bounce back from a 5-1 loss to Fulham, with the team beating Preston thanks to van den Berg’s own goal. Anyhow, we are tempted to put our money on Sheffield United as they want this win more than Huddersfield, who are not regarded as good travelers. Midfielder Aaron Rowe is injured for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Jack Rodwell):
Once an exciting midfielder talent who left his boyhood club Everton for Manchester City in 2012, Jack Rodwell has been attracting plenty of criticism over the past couple of years due to the lack of playing time and refusal to leave the Etihad, despite being on the margins with Citizens.
Rodwell joined Everton’s academy when he was eight and soared through the ranks to emerge as one of the key players for the Merseyside club during his five-year stay with the Toffees. A talked-about £15 million move to City turned into a largely disappointing two-year stint with the Citizens, before Rodwell moved to Sunderland.
Having largely struggled to replicate his flying form from his time at Everton, Rodwell signed for the Championship club Blackburn Rovers in 2018 for the remainder of the season, in a bid to get his career back on track. Rodwell represented England through all youth ranks up to the senior side, for which he only managed three caps.
Highlighted Team (Huddersfield):
Back in 1926 Huddersfield Town became the first English club to win three straight domestic trophies. Since 1908 the Terriers were playing at Leeds Road, but in 1994 John Smith’s Stadium became home of Huddersfield Town. The club play in the English second tier (Championship) and the colour of the their home kit is blue and white (stripes).
Huddersfield Town were founded in 1910 and just three years later they entered the Football League. In 1926 the Terriers won their last domestic trophy, but they did well finishing runners up in the FA Cup 1920. The club’s biggest rivals are Leeds United and it has to be noted that Huddersfield Town have better head-to-head record of the two teams.
Bradford City are considered Huddersfield’s local rivals as well, but there are small rivalries with Barnsley, Halifax Town, Manchester City and Oldham Athletic. The club’s chairman is Dean Hoyle.
