Our prediction for this Championship match:
Monday’s football game at Hillsborough pits together Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City. The Owls aim to make amends for a 1-0 loss to Watford, and given their position in the standings (23rd), this has to go down as a must-win game for the home team. All Luongo, van Akken, Dawson, Odubajo, and Iorfa are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended footballers in the home team.
The Bluebirds, on the other hand, suffered a heart-breaking 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Matchday 39, but despite the defeat they remained in the race for a place in the playoffs. Since both Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City are likely to go for a win in Monday’s clash, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. All Joe Bennett, Joel Bagan, and Sol Bamba are likely to miss the game with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Moses Odubajo):
Moses Odubajo is a professional footballer who plays for Hull City. Odubajo is a right winger, but he is capable of playing at right-back as well. He made 42 appearances for Hull City in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, no doubt, he helped the team secure promotion to the Premier League, although he then suffered a serious injury next summer.
Moses began his career at Leyton Orient and after spending several seasons on loan at St Albans City, Sutton United and Bishop’s Storford, in 2014 he signed a three-year deal with Brentford for an undisclosed fee. Odubajo scored 3 goals in 45 games for Brentford in the 2014/2015 Championship campaign. At the end of the season he signed a £3.5-million-worth deal with Hull City.
Odubajo was born in Greenwich on 28 July, 1993 and he made a total of six appearances for England U-20 team. On 4 December, 2014 he was reportedly invited to the Nigeria U23 training camp, but opted against switching his allegiance to the Super Eagles.
Highlighted Team (Cardiff):
Cardiff City are a Welsh football club that compete in the English second tier (Championship). In 2009 they moved from Ninian Park to Cardiff City Stadium, the venue that officially holds 33,280 spectators.
The Bluebirds played their first ever Premier League match on 18 August, 2013, but they were beaten by West Ham United (0-2) on their debut in the English top flight. However, a week later Fraizer Campbell (two goals) and Aron Gunnarson helped Cardiff City record their first ever win in the Premier League.
The Bluebirds outplayed Manchester City back then, but they eventually dropped to the Championship at the end of the season. Fellow Welsh outfit Swansea City are considered Cardiff’s fiercest rivals and the two teams take on each other in the South Wales derby.
The colour of Cardiff City’s home kit is blue, whilst they wear red shirts and shorts when playing on the travels.
