Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Stadion Rajko Mitic will be packed when Crvena Zvezda take on Stuttgart in the Champions League round 5. Vladan Milojevic’s men have been struggling in the Champions League this term, losing each of their four group games and they face yet another tough challenge against die Schwaben. All Nemanja Radonjic, Mirko Ivanic, Ognjen Mimovic, and Peter Olayinka remain in the recovery room, home win should not be considered.
The Germans, on the other hand, head into Wednesday’s clash following a 2-0 win over Bochum. As Stuttgart will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways in the elite competition, we are tempted to bet on Sebastian Hoeness’ troops. The likes of Undav, Toure, Stiller, Stergiou, Zagadou, Raimund, Leweling, and Chase are injured for the visitors, while both Olivier and Al Dakhil are major doubts. A man to watch in the away team will be Bosnia striker Ermedin Demirovic.
Highlighted Player (Alexander Nubel):
Alexander Nubel is a German goalkeeper who plays for Schalke 04 as a goalkeeper. Nubel started his youth career at TSV Tudorf and he moved to SC Paderborn in the summer of 2005. The 193-cm-tall shoot-stopper, though, did not see any game action with Paderborn at senior level as he joined Schalke 04 in 2015.
After making 24 appearances for the reserve team, Alexander Nubel made his debut with the senior team on May 14, 2016. The German goalkeeper made 18 appearances for die knappen in the 2018/2019 Bundesliga season, keeping five clean sheets in the process. Alexander Nubel has 17 caps for the Germany U21 team as well, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team.
The talented shoot-stopper was born in Paderborn, Germany on September 30, 1996. His preferred foot is right and he has a contract with die Knappen until June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Crvena Zvezda):
Crvena Zvezda are the most famous club in Balkans. The Crveno-beli have 19 Yugoslav First League titles and have won eight domestic trophies since the breakup of Yugoslavia. Crvena Zvezda won their last league title in the 2015/2016 season, with the team finishing the campaign no less than 28 points clear of Partizan.
Speaking of Partizan, the Crno-beli are considered Crvena Zvezda’s bitterest rivals and the two teams meet in the “Eternal derby” (Veciti derbi). The capital club did well to win the European Cup title in 1991, with the team beating Olympique Marseile on penalties in the title game. That is considered the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that the Serbian club won the International Cup later in 1991. Crvena Zvezda outclassed Colo Colo of Chile (3-0) at National Stadium in Tokyo.
The likes of Dejan Savicevic, Vladimir Jugovic, Dragan Stojkovic, Dragoslav Sekularac, Rajko Mitic, Dusan Savic, Nemanja Vidic and Dejan Stankovic are some of the famous footballers who played for Crvena Zvezda in the past.
