Our prediction for this Champions League match:
A spot in the Champions League group stages will be at stake when Copenhagen and Trabzonspor face each other in a two-legged tie. Copenhagen did well to win the National championship last term, but Tuesday’s game will be anything but a walk in the park for the Danish outfit. Both Khocholava and Daramy limped off with injury in a 3-1 loss to Randers at the weekend, which is probably the main reason why home win should not be considered.
All Grabara, Oikonomou, and Singh remain in the recovery room. The Turks, on the other hand, kicked off the new domestic campaign in style, with the team crushing Sivasspor 4-0 in the Super Cup, while beating both Istanbulspor and Hatayspor in the Super Lig. Trabzon are more of a tem than Copenhagen, and, taking everything into account, away win should be considered. The bad news for the visiting side is that Bosnia international Edin Visca suffered a horrific injury in the triumph over Hatayspor.
Highlighted Player (Karl-Johan Johnsson):
Born in Ranneslov (Sweden) on January 28, 1990 Karl-Johan Johansson started his youth career at his home-town club Ranneslovs GIF. In 2005 he joined Halmstadts and four years later he made his first-team debut for HBK. The 187-cm-tall goalkeeper made 67 appearances in the league for Halmstads and in 2013 he signed for NEC as a free agent.
Karl-Johan Johnsson played 30 games for the Dutch club during the 2013/2014 Eredivisie campaign and in the summer of 2014 he moved to Randers. The Swedish shoot-stopper spent two seasons at Randers and in 2016 he moved to French club Guingamp. It has to be noted that he managed to keep nine clean sheets in 37 appearances for Guingamp in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign.
His contract with the club expires on June 30, 2020. Speaking of his international career, Karl-Johan Johnsson has 17 caps for Sweden U21 and he made his senior debut in 2012 against Qatar.
Highlighted Team (Trabzonspor):
Founded on August 2, 1967, Trabzonspor are a Turkish club that compete in the Super Lig. The Karadeniz Firtinasi welcome their rivals at Medical Park Stadyumu, the venue which can hold up to 38,477 people. Trabzonspor were the dominant force in the Turkish top flight from 1975 to 1984, with the team clinching six domestic titles during that period.
The Turkish outfit booked their place in European competitions for the first time in the 1976/77, while making it to the Champions League group stages in the 2011/2012 season. Trabzonspor are well known for their claret and blue kits. After their foundation in 1967 English club Aston Villa sent a set of kits to Trabzonspor, which is the main reason why the two clubs wear the same colours.
Daniel Sturridge is the team’s most notable player. The former Liverpool man, who won the Champions League title with the Premier League side, joined the club in the summer of 2019 as a free agent.
