Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Napoli will look to keep their 100% record in Group A intact when they host Rangers to their Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Wednesday. The Partenopei look unstoppable at the moment, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Cameroon midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa should recover in time to face Rangers, while defender Amir Rrahmani remains in the treatment room.
The Gers, on the other hand, do not seem to be competitive at this level, with the team being stuck at the bottom with no points in their pocket. Since Napoli are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we do not believe that the underdogs are going to grab something from the match. Keep in mind that all Goldson, Hagi, Helander, Jack, Kamara, Lawrence, Lowry, Ofoborh, and Souttar missed Saturday’s draw with Livingston through injuries.
Highlighted Player (Giovanni Simeone):
Giovanni Simeone is a product of River Plate football academy. Simeone played for los Millonarios at senior level from 2014 to 2016 and he moved to Genoa in the summer of 2016. The former River Plate man scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw with Pescara on September 25, 2016 and two months later he scored a brace in a 3-1 victory over Serie A giants Juventus.
The prolific attacker netted 12 goals in 35 matches for the Rossoblu in the 2016/2017 Serie A campaign and, as a result, Fiorentina chiefs decided to sign him at the end of the season. The son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego joined the Viola on a five-year contract. Giovanni was born in Madrid on July 5, 1995 and due to his dual citizenship, he is eligible to represent both Argentina and Spain at senior level.
It has to be noted that he scored 12 goals in 12 appearances for the Argentina U20 team and he helped La Albiceleste win the 2015 South American Youth Football Championship.
Highlighted Team (Rangers):
Glasgow Rangers are one of the two synonyms for Scottish Football. Glasgow Rangers were founded back in 1872 and they have been playing an important role in the Scottish top flight ever since. The Gers won their 54th Scottish Premier League title in the 2010/2011 season, but winning of European Cup Winners’ Cup trophy in 1972 is considered the club’s biggest success.
Glasgow Rangers defeated Dynamo Moscow in the final of the competition, with the likes of Stein and Johnston (two goals) scoring for the Scottish side. Celtic are considered the club’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks when the two teams meet in the Old Firm derby. The likes of Paul Gascoigne, David Weir, Stefan Klos, Chris Boyd, Ian Durrant and Kenny Miller are some of Rangers’ former notable players.
It has to be noted that the Gers welcome their rivals at Ibrox Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 50,817. Rangers’ support is largely drawn from the Protestant Unionist community.
