Our prediction for this Copa del Rey match:
Buoyed by a thrilling Super Cup win (5-2) over their bitter rivals Real Madrid, Barcelona will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Real Betis in the Copa del Rey last 16. Barca are on a three-game winning run in all competitions and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against los Beticos. Centre-back Inigo Martinez limped off with injury in “El Clasico”, with Ronald Araujo likely to step up. The likes of Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo are pushing for a start as well.
The Andalusians, on the other hand, aim to recover from a 1-0 loss to Real Valladolid, but given their recent negative record in Barcelona, home win should be considered. In their last meeting at Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys, Barcelona crushed Real Betis 5-0, which goes in favour of our earlier prediction. Both Hector Bellerin and William Carvalho remain in the recovery room, while duo Ruibal – Vitor Roque is pushing for a start.
