Our prediction for this Copa del Rey match:
Huesca will look to claim a major scalp in the Copa del Rey last 32 when they take on Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening. Los Azulgranas kicked off their Spanish Cup campaign with a 2-0 win over Antequera, but they will have a big fish to fry against the La Liga outfit. Bear in mind, though, that Huesca defeated both Ferrol and Cartagena in the previous two home matches.
Los Vallecanos, on the other hand, defeated nine-man Getafe in the Madrid derby in midweek to regain a much-needed confidence. Anyhow, we are tempted to put our money on draw this time out as Huesca are tough to beat at home. Both Nteka and Chavarria are pushing for recalls to the starting XI, while Senegal midfielder Pathe Ciss is on international duty. It has to be noted that there have been under 2.5 goals in each of the last four meetings between the two sides.
Highlighted Player (Radamel Falcao):
Radamel Falcao, nicknamed the “Colombian Tiger”, is considered one of the best players in the history of Colombian football. The 177-cm-tall attacker is well known for his brilliant finishing and his header technique gives him an advantage in aerial battles with opposition defenders.
Falcao was born in Santa Marta, Colombia on 10 February, 1986 and he started his senior career at Lanceros Boyaca. He played for Argentine giants River Plate between 2005 and 2009 and in 2009 he joined Porto. After scoring 41 goals in 51 league appearances for the Dragons, Falcao signed for Atletico Madrid on 18 August 2011 for a fee of €40 million.
The Colombian attacker helped los Rojiblancos win Europa League trophy in 2012, scoring 12 goals in the process. He played for Monaco in the 2013/2014 Ligue 1 campaign and in 2014 he signed a loan deal with Manchester United. He scored just 4 goals in 26 league appearances for the Red Devils and was later loaned to Chelsea before returning to Stade Louis II.
Highlighted Team (Huesca):
Huesca are a Spanish club that compete in La Liga, the Spanish top flight. The club was originally founded in 1910, but in 1940 it was renamed Union Deportiva. In 1956 the club disappeared due to financial problems, but four years later Sociedad Deportiva Huesca was born. Huesca are well known for their blaugrana colors as their founding members were Barcelona fans.
The club welcome their rivals at El Alcoraz and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 5,500. Despite the fact that El Alcoraz can hold up to 5,500 people in December 2014 7,600 spectators watched the game between Huesca and Barcelona. Huesca will make their first ever appearance in Primera Division in the 2018/2019 season.
The likes of Leo Franco, Luis Sastre and Ruben Castro are some of the most notable footballers that played for Huesca. Real Zaragoza are considered Huesca’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in Derbi Aragones.
