Buoyed by a thrilling 5-1 win over ten-man Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund will look to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Bochum in the German Cup last 16. The Yellow-Blacks have rejoined the title race, but they have big ambitions for the DFB Pokal as well. Returnee Sebastien Haller should keep his place in the starting XI after finding the net in the crushing of Christian Streich’s troops, whereas all Thomas Meunier, Abdoulaye Kamara, and Mateu Morey are out of contention with injuries.
Meanwhile, the hosts impressed in a splendid 5-2 win over Hoffenheim, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against the in-form visitors. Since Borussia Dortmund rolled over Bochum 3-0 in their last Bundesliga meeting, away win should be considered.
