Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
Following a morale-boosting 3-0 win over Southampton, Manchester United will look to provide their fans with another cause for celebration when they face Barnsley in the EFL Cup last 32. The Red Devils are brimming with confidence ahead of Tuesday’s clash and even though Erik ten Hag is expected to mix the squad, home win should be considered. All Alejandro Garnacho, Harry Maguire, and Casemiro should be recalled to the starting XI, while the likes of Lindelof, Shaw, Malacia, Mount, and Hojlund remain in the recovery room.
The Tykes, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 defeat to Stevenage, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on the English powerhouse. USA defender Donovan Pines should miss out with injury for the League One side. In their last encounter in the EFL Cup, back in 2009, Manchester United defeated Barnsley 2-0.

The capacity of the stadium is 23,009 and it was opened back in 1888, just one year after the club’s foundation. The Tykes made it to the FA Cup final in 1910, but Newcastle United proved to be a big catch for the Oakwell outfit in the title game.
Nonetheless, Barnsley won the FA cup trophy in 1912 and that is considered the club’s biggest success. Barnsley defeated West Bromwich Albion in the two-legged tie (0-0, 1-0) to clinch the prestigious trophy for the first and only time in their history.
