Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
Greenhous Meadow will host Tuesday’s EFL Cup game between Shrewsbury Town and Burnley. The Shrews experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Ipswich, and, no doubt, they will give 100% to get back on course against Burnley. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team ahead of the visit of Burnley. The Clarets, on the other hand, failed to win the previous four league fixtures.
Burnley are eager to return to winning ways as well, and, taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. Ian Maatsen is banned for the match, while duo Scott Twine – Kevin Long is rated doubtful, and they will be assessed ahead of the kick-off. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be midfielder Nathan Tella, who scored a brace in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Burnley.
Highlighted Player (Aaron Pierre):
Born on February 17, 1993 in Southall, England Aaron Pierre is a professional footballer who plays for Shrewsbury Town in the League One as a defender. Pierre started his youth career at Fulham at the age of 15 and in 2011 he moved to Brentford youth school.
Speaking of his senior career, the 185-cm-tall defender played for the likes of Brentford, Cambridge United, Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton Town before signing a deal with Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2019. Aaron Pierre signed for the League One side for an undisclosed fee, penning a three-year deal. Despite being born in England, the Shrewsbury Town footballer represents Granada on the international stage.
He received his first call-up for the Grenada national team in September, 2015, but he has yet to find the net with the Spice Boys. The Grenada international’s main position is centre-back, whereas his preferred foot is left.
Highlighted Team (Burnley):
Burnley were one of the founding members of the Football League back in 1888. The Clarets did remarkably well to win the FA Cup trophy back in 1914 and the club owners have been trying to bring glory days back to Turf Moor ever since.
Burnley defeated Liverpool in the 1913/1914 FA Cup final and, no doubt, this is regarded as the greatest achievement in the club’s history. The Clarets finished the 2015/2016 Championship campaign in top position in the standings and, as a result, they will participate in the English Premier League in the 2016/2017 season.
Burnley play their home games at Turf Moor and the capacity of the stadium is 21,401. The Clarets have won two Community Shield trophies so far, in 1960 and 1973, but they have yet to clinch the Premier League title. Claret is the dominant colour of the team’s home shirts.
