Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
A spot in the EFL Cup semis will be at stake when Tottenham and Manchester United go head to head at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday evening. Spurs rolled over Southampton 5-0 at the weekend and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Man Utd. Midfielder Yves Bissouma serves a one-game ban, while the likes of Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, Richarlison, Rodrigo Bentancur, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario remain in the recovery room.
The Red Devils recorded a thrilling come-from-behind win over Manchester City in the local derby and given their signs of improvement under new boss Ruben Amorim, we believe that there is a big value in betting on over 2.5 goals. You should know that over 2.5 goals have been netted in three of the previous four meetings between the two sides in the Premier League. As for the away team, Luke Shaw remains in the recovery room, while Mason Mount should be fit for the EFL Cup game.
Highlighted Player (Heung-min Son):
Over the years Son Heung-Min has established himself as one of the best Asian footballers. Son is a Tottenham Hotspur first-team regular and he played a very important role in Mauro Pochettino’s team in the 2017/2018 Premier League campaign, scoring 12 goals, while making 37 appearances in the process.
The South Korean footballer, who is well known for his speed and a very powerful shot, was born in Chuncheo on 8 July 1992 and he began his youth career at FC Seoul. In 2008 he moved to Hamburger SV, but he made his senior debut for the Bundesliga club two years later. In 2013 he signed a deal with fellow German side Bayer Leverkusen and he scored 21 goals in 62 appearances in the Bundesliga for the BayArena outfit.
In 2015 he signed a five-year contract with Spurs for a fee of £22 million. Son Heung-min made his South Korea debut in a friendly against Syria in 2010.
Highlighted Team (Manchester United):
Over the years Manchester United have established themselves as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Red Devils have won three European Cup (Champions League) trophies and they have clinched no less than 20 Premier League titles.
A number of top-class players were part of Manchester United in the past, but, no doubt, the club’s biggest legend is coach Sir Alex Ferguson, who was in charge of the team for 26 years. During Alex Ferguson’s spell at Old Trafford the club won a number of trophies, but the Red Devils have been struggling in all competitions ever since he retired. Louis van Gaal helped Manchester United win the FA Cup trophy in the 2015/2016 season, with Jese Lingard scoring the winner in the 2-1 triumph over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium.
The likes of Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best and Eric Cantona are the football stars that graced Old Trafford for Manchester United.
