Preston
Wolverhampton will look to make amends for a 1-0 loss to Tottenham when they face Preston at Molineux Stadium in the last 64 of the EFL Cup. The Wolves have yet to record a win in the new Premier League campaign, but they are still seen as favourites to beat the Lilywhites on home soil. Fit-again Mexico attacker Raul Jimenez is pushing for a start, while Chiquinho remains on the sidelines with injury.
Preston, on the other hand, have been impressive at the back of late, with the team eyeing their fourth consecutive clean sheet. Since Wolverhampton rarely concede in front of home fans, we are tempted to put our money on under 2.5 goals. As for the visiting side, all Patrick Bauer, Greg Cunningham, Alistair McCann, and Ben Woodburn are sidelined through injuries.

Argentine forward Raul Jimenez began his career within the youth ranks of Club America, a club he went on to play 102 matches in all competitions and score 39 goals for before his 2014 move to Atletico Madrid. Despite signing a six-year deal with La Liga outfit in a reported transfer fee worth €11 million, Raul Jimenez never really managed to get his foot on the ground with the Colchineros.
After only 21 games and one goal for Atletico Madrid, the Mexico international moved to Portugal after his collapsed loan move to West Ham. Raul Jimenez missed the flight to London after reportedly oversleeping, but various reports suggest that he was advised by his agent Jorge Mendes to choose Benfica instead.
Portuguese giants initially acquired 50% of the player’s economic rights, while the remaining share of Jimenez’s contract was purchased in the summer of 2016 for a fee believed to be around €12 million. During his maiden season with the Eagles Mexico international played 28 Primeira Liga games, contributing with five goals during the process.

Preston North End or Preston were founded in 1880. The Lilywhites or the Invincibles play their home games at Deepdale, the stadium that was built in 1875 and opened three years later.
In 1889 Preston won their first FA Cup trophy and they did well to beat Huddersfield Town in the final of the 1938 FA Cup final. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1889 and 1890 when they won back-to-back domestic trophies (First Division).
Preston have yet to win the League Cup title, but they were runners-up in 1888, 1922, 1937, 1954, 1964. Preston’s main rivals are Blackpool and the two teams square off against each other in the West Lancashire derby. In their first ever meeting in the West Lancashire derby (1901) Preston recorded a 4-1 win over Blackpool.
Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are considered Preston’s big rivals as well. The colour of Preston’s shirts is white and they wear dark blue shorts.
