Aris will be looking to make a flying start to their Conference League qualifying campaign when they host Gomel to their Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium on Thursday evening. The Yellow-Blacks did well to beat star-studded Olympiakos 2-1 in pre-season, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Gomel.
A man to watch in the home team will be pacey winger Gervinho, who joined the club in the summer transfer window, but former Watford forward Andre Gray should pose a big threat for the opposition back-line as well. Gomel, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to FC Minsk, and given their difficulties in front of goal, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise.
