Koper
Viking will be looking to put an end to their three-game losing run when they face Koper in the Conference League second qualifying round, first leg. Viking have suffered a dip in form, with the team especially struggling at the back, but Thursday’s clash could be the turning point for the Eliteserien outfit. Duo Kristoffer Klaesson – Peter Christiansen is rated doubtful for the home side after limping off with injuries in a 4-2 loss to Bodo Glimt, with Hilmir Mikaelsson and Arild Ostbo being ready to step up.
The Yellow and Blues, on the other hand, did well to eliminate Zeljeznicar in the first qualifying round, while beating Bravo 2-1 in their Slovenian Prva Liga opener. Given Koper’s attacking potential and Viking’s desire to get back on course, we are tempted to place our bets on both teams to score. Experienced Koper midfielder Nik Omladic is widely expected to return to the starting XI after scoring a brace as a substitute against Bravo.
