Zalgiris will be aiming to build on a 3-0 win over Dziugas Telsiai when they take on Linfield in the Europa Conference League second qualifying round, first leg. The Lithuanians were more than unfortunate not to eliminate Hamrun in the Champions League double-header, but they are seen as favourites to win Thursday’s clash. Anyhow, their display in the home triumph over Hamrun is giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of Linfield’s visit.
The Blues, on the other hand, failed to impress in their Champions League tie against Shelbourne and given their difficulties on the road, we are tempted to place our bets on the Lithuanian outfit. When the two teams met in Champions League qualifiers back in 2021, Zalgiris eliminated Linfield without any difficulties. To make things even worse for the visiting team, defender Ben Hall is banned for the match following his sending-off against Shelbourne.
