CFR Cluj
Stockhorn Arena will host Thursday’s Europa League game between Lugano and CFR Cluj, the two teams that meet for the first time in European competitions. Lugano were producing fine performances in the Conference League last term and given their promising displays in preseason, home win should be considered. Summer signing Ahmed Kendouci is widely expected to make his official Lugano debut against CFR Cluj.
The Romanians, on the other hand, set up a meeting with Lugano by beating Paks of Hungary in the double-header. Cluj, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Lugano’s party at Stockhorn Arena. Both Lindon Emerllahu and Mohammed Kamara are expected to miss out with injuries for the away team, with duo Damjan Djokovic – Alin Fica stepping up. Romanian football legend Dan Petrescu is likely to stick to the 4-3-3 formation.
