Our prediction for this Europa League match:
There will be fireworks when Tottenham and Roma lock horns in the Europa League round 5. Spurs are brimming with confidence following a thrilling 4-0 win over Manchester City and they are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach against Claudio Ranieri’s troops. Brennan Johnson is pushing for a start after sealing the victory against the Citizens, while talented forward Will Lankshear serves a one-game ban. The likes of Odobert, Richarlison, Romero, and Micky van de Ven remain on the sidelines with injuries. Rodrigo Bentancur has been suspended by the club.
The Giallorossi, on the other hand, suffered a 1-0 loss to Napoli on Claudio Ranieri’s return to the bench. As Roma obviously struggle on the travels, we are tempted to bet on Tottenham, who proved their worth in the crushing of Man City. Both Mario Hermoso and Alexis Saelemaekers should miss out through injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Heung-min Son):
Over the years Son Heung-Min has established himself as one of the best Asian footballers. Son is a Tottenham Hotspur first-team regular and he played a very important role in Mauro Pochettino’s team in the 2017/2018 Premier League campaign, scoring 12 goals, while making 37 appearances in the process.
The South Korean footballer, who is well known for his speed and a very powerful shot, was born in Chuncheo on 8 July 1992 and he began his youth career at FC Seoul. In 2008 he moved to Hamburger SV, but he made his senior debut for the Bundesliga club two years later. In 2013 he signed a deal with fellow German side Bayer Leverkusen and he scored 21 goals in 62 appearances in the Bundesliga for the BayArena outfit.
In 2015 he signed a five-year contract with Spurs for a fee of £22 million. Son Heung-min made his South Korea debut in a friendly against Syria in 2010.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma is a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football.
The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. The Prince of Rom made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
